Vivek Ramaswamy demands offices be 64 degrees or lower: report

Some like it not so hot.

Although Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy touts himself as a politician who can take the heat, some describe him as a man fixated on the temperature — who demands his offices be kept at 64 degrees or lower.

Ramaswamy, a biotech executive, allegedly orders the thermostats at his Roivant Sciences and Strive Asset Management firms to be kept at temperatures so cold that employees are forced to make use of space heaters at their desks, former workers told Business Insider.

The employees claimed that along with the space heaters, they would put on their “Roivant-branded Patagonia fleeces” to stave off the frigid temperatures at the offices.

“Yes, Vivek likes it chilly,” a campaign spokesperson confirmed.

The “CEO of anti-Woke” has such a need to bask in a cold environment that he also hired three Army Rangers whose main job, along with serving as bodyguards, allegedly included arriving at his hotel rooms early to make sure they were at a “sufficient temperature” before he entered.

While former employees and associates claimed that cool temperatures were at the top of Ramaswamy’s priorities when conducting himself, they said he was ironically hot-headed and quick to lose his cool whenever his demands were not met.

One former employee also said he lashed out during a meeting when a colleague pitched an idea for letting employees leave early on summer Fridays.

“He lost his cool completely and went off on a rant about summer Fridays and how dare anyone ask about that,” one of the ex-staffers told Insider.

Another person who worked closely with him claimed that Ramaswamy is also very particular about his food, which included demands for a serving of cottage cheese to be ready at his desk every morning.

The former associate claimed that Ramasway also appeared to take pleasure in bossing people around with personal orders, like when he allegedly insisted that his assistants serve him takeout on a plate.

“He thinks people are put on this earth to serve him,” the colleague said.

Ramaswamy’s campaign spokesperson denied the characterization, describing the entrepreneur as a hard-working leader who believes that people are not meant to serve him, but “serve whatever mission they’ve signed up for.”

While his former employees and colleagues claimed the candidate gets whatever he wants, the biotech CEO didn’t get his way last month when rapper Eminem sent a cease-and-desist letter to stop using his songs on the campaign trail.

Ramaswamy is currently battling for third place in GOP polls along with former diplomat Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence, with former President Donald Trump leading and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in second.
