TikTok star Gabbie Hanna receives wellness check from police
TikTok star Gabbie Hanna told fans police showed up at her house to conduct a wellness check after she posted 100 videos in one day.
Hanna said when the officers departed her Los Angeles house, they left a “wellness card” with her.
TMZ further reported that her concerning videos prompted tons of people to flood the LAPD with calls asking them to check in on her.
The outlet noted that Gabbie greeted officers at her door and chatted for a few minutes before officers called for a psychological team to evaluate her. The medical professionals had a discussion with Gabbie and determined that she did not pose a threat to herself or others and allowed her to remain at home.
Gabbie, 31, who goes by “Trauma Queen” on the video-sharing platform, appeared to stop posting to her account after the cops visited her.
As Gabbie’s account received an influx of comments from worried fans, the social media star’s sister, Cecilia, responded saying Gabbie’s health and wellness was none of their concern.
“This video was filmed and posted a full day before anything was happening or at least before we were aware. We are all in PA and she is in LA,” Cecilia wrote, according to a fan’s screenshot.
“we are doing what can be done from here. at the end of the day you are all strangers on the internet and it is none of your business regardless of level of concern.”
Gabbie previously disclosed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which can cause severe mood swings.
Cecilia said she and her family are “doing what we can,” but had limited options because Gabbie is an “adult” living on the “other side of the country” from her family.
