Selena Gomez, Kourtney Kardashian bring back chunky cotton headbands in latest 90s nostalgia revival
Celebs are banding together to revive this nostalgic ’90s fashion trend.
Accessories such as bellybutton rings and butterfly hair clips are back in style — but now it’s time for the revival of the cotton headband.
A slew of stars are embracing their inner Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport from the 1995 movie “Clueless,” pulling their hair back with a comfy headband in the heat of the summer.
Selena Gomez, 31, was first seen sporting one of the iconic headbands in her “Love On” music video that was released back in February.
And she’s continued to revive the style in a series of selfies posted to her Instagram stories on the Fourth of July.
The singer and actress dressed up the headband with a chic strapless dress as she headed to Nobu Malibu for a private beachside party with boyfriend Benny Blanco.
One fan account even posted a side-by-side picture of Gomez in her holiday fit with a childhood photo hat shows her sporting the exact same hair accessory — taken more than 20 years apart.
But Gomez is far from the only celebrity to lean into the headband trend.
Olivia Culpo, 32, shared a series of photos on Instagram supporting her husband Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers while wearing a black cotton headband.
Meanwhile, model Lori Harvey was seen rocking the classic sporty look, paring the accessory with an all-black workout set, black sunglasses and oversized hoop earrings.
Kourtney Kardashian Barker was also seen rocking one of headbands during a recent trip to Australia alongside husband Travis Barker.
Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner and Nicola Peltz Beckham are among the other A-listers to take the ’90s cotton headband and turn it into one of the hottest trends of 2024
The reemergence of late ’90s, and early 2000s fashion is currently all the rage among celebrities and stylists, who have also been sporting baby tees.
Meanwhile, Limited Too — one of the hottest clothing shops from that time period — recently announced it would be relaunching this summer.
