People with alopecia are going viral on TikTok after sharing their apparent successful hair growth journey, thanks to a new miracle drug.

TikToker Celine Keely usually posts videos wearing different wigs as she reviews books on the app, but this time she revealed her nearly bald head to share the amazing progress she’s allegedly made while taking Olumiant, also known as baricitinib.

In the TikTok video, a smiling Celine shows off her hair growth every week for two months while taking the new drug.

“I am so nervous to post about anything alopecia related, but this is the content I was desperately searching for when I started Olumiant. I’d like to give that to somebody,” she captioned the video that quickly gathered 769,800 views.

Her comments section was flooded with congratulations as Celine expressed her surprise and joy.

The hashtag #olumiant has 1.6 million views as people continue to search for a cure for their #alopecia, a hashtag that has 4.5 billion views on TikTok.

In another TikTok video, Xavier Piña shows clips of themselves three years ago when they first began balding compared to their shaved head now showing off their shrinking bald patches.

“I have been taking ‘olumiant’ for my alopecia and it’s the only thing that has worked for me. Thank god,” Piña wrote.

They shared that the “amazing” drug had their hair growing back after about a week and has allegedly helped to re-grow almost all of their hair in just two months.

Alopecia causes baldness in more than 300,000 Americans annually and became a hot topic earlier this year when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock after the latter made a joke about the bald head on Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, at the 2022 Oscars. The actress has suffered from the illness since 2018.

Olumiant was approved to treat severe alopecia by the Food and Drug Administration this summer.

Alopecia patients lose clumps of hair when their immune system attacks their own hair follicles. Olumiant blocks the activity of a family of enzymes that inflames the attack, the FDA said.

“We were thrilled with this approval, as it represented a historic moment for patients with severe AA, many of whom have dealt with social stigma and a lack of treatment options for this often devastating, immune-mediated disease,” a representative from Eli Lilly and Company told The Post.

It is the first drug approved by the government that treats the entire body for the autoimmune disorder instead of a specific location.
