NYC named party capital of the US — beating out hotspots like Las Vegas and Miami

Don’t sleep on the city that never sleeps.

New York was named the number one party town in the US — over legendary nightlife hotspots like Las Vegas and Miami.

The new ranking, published by bedroom furniture merchants Mattress Next Day, analyzed cities across the country for going-out search interest on Google, number of events and clubs, safety, public transit costs and number of four-star hotels and restaurants — in order to determine which burg balls the hardest.

Go-hard Gotham grabbed first place, with 610 events occurring at night, which is nearly double the number of the runner-up, survey authors said.

“Plus, more than half of its hotels are rated four stars or higher on TripAdvisor, ensuring you can sleep in luxury after a long night taking in all the sights of the Big Apple,” they wrote.

New York is notably home to a range of underground party scenes and unorthodox gathering places, such as the Chinatown parking lot hotspot Time Again.

The city also boasts creative nightlife events, like boozy craft classes, and famous eateries, such as the celeb-beloved Corner Store.

Not to mention, the city so nice they named it twice was named the No. 1 travel destination in the US by Trip Advisor this year.

Las Vegas took second place on the fun-loving list.

“Nicknamed Sin City, Las Vegas is one of the most famous holiday spots in the world for nightlife seekers,” the authors wrote.

“It’s home to the renowned Las Vegas Strip, plenty of lavish casinos, and a range of restaurants.”

The Nevada hub also has the highest search volume for parties on Google — with over 100,000 people hunting for nightlife events in a given month.

Then, there’s Boston, which ranked third, reportedly for its restaurant and hotel scene, and Austin, which placed fourth for being the cheapest travel party destinations.

The Texas city is home to some of the most affordable transportation options was said to be among the safest.

Fifth, the study revealed, is San Diego.

The Southern California beach city is the second safest on the list, per the study authors.

Every month, there are an average of 70 nighttime events and 9,000 Google searches for parties, traits that make it “a hotspot for anyone looking to soak up the West Coast sun before heading out to the club.”

Miami did not rank on the best-of list.

The authors also selected the five top party capitals in Europe — with Ibiza, Prague, Belgrade, Madrid and Budapest all making the grade.
