Naked man terrorizing LA apartment building: residents
Disturbing video captured a knife-wielding naked man roaming throughout a Los Angeles apartment complex, terrifying residents who say he has repeatedly tried to break into their homes.
Footage posted by KTLA shows the creep wandering the premises on North Serrano Avenue in the East Hollywood neighborhood.
“He’s been trying to break into apartments,” 27-year-old resident Vanessa Salguero told the outlet.
“He was walking around naked one night — just full-on naked. I wasn’t able to sleep the last week or so. I developed really bad insomnia, really bad anxiety and I know everyone else has been feeling the same thing,” she said.
The stranger also was seen carrying a large knife and a mask during his chilling strolls.
Residents said problems at the complex began when a woman was placed in a psychiatric hold after she threatened to blow up the building recently.
Interlopers, including the naked man, have reportedly come looking for her since that incident.
“The police said, ‘But she’s not doing anything,’” another tenant, Maria Teresa Lim, told KTLA. “Then what is the right time? When all of us are dead?”
The building management left a note on doors saying it was acting within parameters allowed by law, but residents are demanding that more be done.
“They changed the locks on this door right here and that doesn’t do anything for us if there are other entrance points,” Salguero told the outlet.
“You don’t want to wake up and see a naked man roaming the pool touching himself. There’s children. It’s unbearable,” she added.
Management has not responded to KTLA’s request for comment.
Last month, residents in another LA neighborhood also were terrorized by a naked man who was later arrested after he broke a window and tried to enter a home on North Beachwood, KABC reported.
