My wife and I share 91 tattoos — people think we’re from hell

The devil works hard — but this couple works harder.

Victor Hugo Peralta, 52, and his wife Gabriela, 52, are obsessed with body modifications — but their shared love of ink and piercings isn’t well received by everyone.

The South American couple — dubbed the “Cherubs from hell” by haters — met 25 years ago and have been working on their impressive tattoo collection ever since, with a combined 91 inkings and skin punctures between them.

The pair was even awarded the Guinness World Record for “most body modifications” for a married couple in 2014 with 84 tattoos, keeping hold of the illustrious record ever since.

The body-art-obsessed spouses, who have been married for 15 years, are planning to renew their world record for its upcoming 10-year anniversary.

“When we received the title, I felt immense emotion and pride at being awarded for my choice of life,” Gabriela, from Argentina, told NeedToKnow.co.uk. “I’ve always been faithful to what I like and the image I want to have. Respecting my inner being, which has been closely linked to art.”

Together, they have amassed 50 piercings, eight microdermals, 14 body implants, five dental implants, four ear expanders, two ear bolts and one forked tongue. Both have also had their scleras, or white part of their eyes, tattooed.

They’ve spent thousands of dollars on their modifications between them, but claim most of their work has been gifts from friends and aligns with their ethos.

Gabriela credits her grandparents for her love of body ink, saying she was surrounding by art “24 hours a day” growing up.

“My grandfather was a musician and a photographer, with my grandmother a painter,” she explained. “I grew up with art all around me.”

Victor, from Uruguay, has been a tattoo artist for 28 years in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and loves sharing his passion with his wife.

He was first inked at aged 13, getting “f–k” tattooed across the fingers on his left hand, claiming over 95% of his body is covered.

He controversially has the Devil’s “666” carved into his scalp, and had metal horns implanted into his skull which cost around $500.

Victor said he’s “happy and proud” to be awarded the Guinness World Record with his wife, adding they’ve learned to deal with trolls over time.

“People react in different ways: surprise, curiosity and fear,” he explained. “We’re often congratulated for our courage and for being daring, both with the pain threshold and tolerance for it.”

Victor said he thinks the reason people are so shocked by their appearances is because they are actively choosing a different lifestyle from them and they find it confronting.

“We live it naturally and without prejudice,” he said. “We simply are and we live as we want.”

He said the couple are “very happy,” and they’re always open to talk about their lifestyle choices.

“We are always willing to talk or exchange opinions, as long as everything is respectful,” he said.
