Mom planning her wedding dies after waking from nap ‘sweating’
A mom who was planning her wedding died after she woke up from a nap sweating.
Ashleigh De-Andrade died in the hospital following a weekend away at Haven Hafan y Môr Holiday Park in North Wales.
The 31-year-old left behind three sons — Jacob, 12, Noah, 10, and Lewi, 3 — and a fiancé, Jordan Nimmo.
Her friend Lauren Guest told local outlet Liverpool Echo that on April 23, De-Andrade complained of a temperature after returning to Southport from her trip.
Guest shared that the mom of three went to take a nap on April 26 and woke up sweating.
She was then taken to the hospital, where she had multiple seizures and was put into an induced coma before dying later that same day.
It’s believed that De-Andrade suffered from meningitis and an unexpected bleed on the brain.
But Guest told the Echo that her friend was “absolutely fine” in the weeks leading up to her death.
“It was all really quick and sudden so it makes it even more devastating,” she shared.
“They came back on Sunday (April 23) after being away with her three boys and partner. She didn’t feel too good so she went up to bed for a little sleep,” Guest continued. “Her partner woke her up a few hours later. She was sweating. He took her to hospital to get checked and she had a couple of seizures in hospital.”
De-Andrade was in her second year of school studying mental health nursing at the time of her death.
Guest put together a GoFundMe page “to raise enough money for her beautiful boys & partner Jordan to be able to spend some much-needed quality time together in the near future.”
She also wrote a tribute to her late friend on the page: “To our beautiful Ashleigh: I am so sorry this happened to you. It’s true what they say he really does take the best of us because you was one of the most amazing people I have ever met, you were so special Ash. We are all absolutely devastated & can’t believe you are gone. You will be forever missed & hold such a special place in all of our hearts our beautiful girl. Rest in peace & keep shining bright looking down on your beautiful family especially your boys.”
