Mom finds body of 16-year-old Siri Reddy at bottom of cliff
A Texas mother looking for her missing 16-year-old honor-student daughter made a horrific discovery when she found the teen dead at the bottom of a cliff after tracking her phone with an app.
Siri Reddy’s mother headed to the Keystone School in San Antonio on Thursday afternoon to pick up the high school junior, but she was nowhere to be found, reported the station KSAT.
Unable to reach Reddy, her mother used an app to track her daughter’s phone, which led her to a wooded area near the Heroes Stadium.
The mother was initially unable to locate the teen on her own and reported her missing to the police.
As officers responded, Reddy’s mother spotted her daughter at the bottom of a cliff.
First responders who were summoned performed CPR on the high schooler, but she could not be resuscitated.
Authorities later said it is believed the died from injuries she suffered after falling from the cliff.
“At this time it is unknown why [Reddy] was at the location,” said the San Antonio police.
The Keystone School has released a statement paying tribute to Reddy, who was described as a standout student with a passion for music.
“She was a member of the National Honor Society, an award-winning member of the school’s Science Fair team, a member of the Upper School robotics team, and contributed to The Keynote [student newspaper],” the high school stated.
“Last year, she sang ‘Vedrai Carino’ by Mozart at Music Fest at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, and she sang in the cast of the Upper School musical ‘Grease.’”
Police said the circumstances of Reddy’s death are still under investigation.
