Mauro Icardi calls wife Wanda Nara ‘toxic’ in exposed messages
Soccer star Mauro Icardi appeared to slam his wife, Wanda Nara, in private social media messages that were made public following the couple’s split.
In the exchange published by Marca, Icardi accused Nara of being “toxic” and wanting to “manage” his life after she inquired about the Argentinian athlete’s whereabouts and if he was alone, per the outlet.
“When you are single, or you say you are, but you are toxic,” the 29-year-old Icardi wrote in a post, in addition to, “Now you want to manage my life separately too?”
The messages were scrubbed from Icardi’s social media account, according to Marca, which also reported how he posted a photo throwing a kiss and tagging Nara, 35.
Earlier this month, Nara — a model and entertainer, who has also acted as Icardi’s agent — revealed that the couple was going their separate ways after eight years of marriage.
“It is very painful for me to live this moment. But given my exposure and the things that are transcending and the media speculation, it is preferable that they know about it from me,” Nara wrote in her Instagram Stories, per The Sun.
“I have nothing more to clarify and I am not going to give any kind of detail about this separation. Please, I ask that you understand not only for me, but also for our children.”
Nara wed Icardi — who is a Galatasaray striker on loan from Paris Saint-Germain — in 2014. They share two children, Francesca and Isabella.
The duo’s relationship was thrust further into the spotlight last fall when Nara accused Icardi of being unfaithful, The Sun reported at the time.
