October 9, 2024
Former President Donald Trump’s sprawling Florida mansion and club, Mar-a-Lago, will be just fine as Hurricane Milton sweeps over the area — because it’s tethered to a coral reef.
Trump’s official home in Palm Beach was designed to be storm-proof — made with concrete, 3-foot-thick walls and steel anchors holding the structure to the coral reef below it, the Palm Beach Post reported.

It’s also located on the Sunshine State’s east coast, opposite from where the storm is expected to make landfall early Thursday.
Mar-a-Lago has remained standing after every hurricane that has wreaked havoc on South Florida’s coast since 1928.
