Man, mom arrested for shooting BB gun at minors over online spat
A Connecticut man and his mom were arrested following a BB gun shootout with minors that erupted following an argument on social media, police said.
Luis Hernandez, 18, was taken into custody Wednesday following a months-long investigation over BB gunfire that broke out in Plainfield on Feb. 19, WTNH reports.
Police said they responded to a disturbance involving 10 people at 10:52 p.m., when Hernandez, his mother, Mary Pruenca, 42, and a second male arrived at a home in the area following an online spat with a bunch of minors.
Hernandez, who previously bought a BB gun, allegedly instigated a fight with the kids and fired at their house, damaging the front door.
Police noted that the man accompanying Hernandez and Pruenca did not get involved in the fight, and the trio quickly fled before police arrived.
