Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo kisses him after World Cup
Lionel Messi’s wife could hardly contain her excitement Sunday after Argentina defeated France in a wild finish at the 2022 World Cup.
Antonela Roccuzzo was photographed in the stands at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, where she witnessed Messi claim his first-ever World Cup title after Gonzalo Montiel nailed the winning penalty kick.
Roccuzzo, who has been married to Messi since 2017, was seen sporting his No. 10 jersey and a white cap as she watched the 35-year-old athlete score two goals against France, one on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute and another in extra time at the 108th minute.
Argentina went on to defeat reigning-champion France in penalty kicks, 4-2, sealing the country’s first World Cup victory since 1986.
Moments after the win, Messi was greeted on the field by Roccuzzo and their three sons: Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 4. Roccuzzo also kissed Messi on the cheek in a sweet moment.
Roccuzzo has been keeping fans up to date on her family’s World Cup happenings over the past few weeks, frequently posting pics from the tournament on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Roccuzzo shared a photo of herself cozying up to Messi which she captioned, “Momentos,” or “moments.”
Ahead of this year’s tournament, Roccuzo posted a pic of the couple’s three sons sporting Messi’s jerseys by a Christmas tree.
“Here we come Qatar!” she wrote on Instagram in November.
Now, Messi and his favorite supporters can enjoy every moment of this much-deserved victory lap.
