Lindsay Clancy’s husband had concerns about her mental health days before kids were killed: docs

The husband of the Massachusetts nurse charged with killing their three children earlier this year expressed concerns about her mental well-being to friends shortly before the shocking tragedy, court documents revealed this week.

Lindsay Clancy’s husband, Patrick, texted a college friend about his worries on Jan. 5, just weeks before she allegedly strangled their daughter, Cora, 5, and sons, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months, before throwing herself out a window of their Duxbury home on Jan. 24, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

He confided that he was concerned that his wife “was prescribed too many medications,” the documents said.

Patrick also allegedly told friends weeks earlier that Lindsay — who reportedly struggled with postpartum anxiety and depression — was on medication and that he worried she was suffering “the worst side effects possible” from benzodiazepine withdrawal, the outlet said.

The dad of three, however, never told friends whether he feared his wife was a danger to herself or others.

In the weeks since the deaths of the Clancy children, Lindsay’s defense team has repeatedly argued that the popular labor and delivery nurse was driven by a lethal cocktail of prescriptions that turned her into a “zombie.”

The same college friend whom Patrick texted on Jan. 5 also remembered that Lindsay “seemed fairly normal, mostly quiet while on her phone and keeping to herself” at a couples’ dinner on Jan. 22 — two days before the tragedy.

The friend recalled being “actually surprised [Lindsay] was there due to Pat’s statements about her health, and (the family friend) didn’t know she was coming that night,” the documents noted.

That evening was the first time the group had seen Lindsay “in a couple months.”

Court records also showed that Lindsay’s scheduled court appearance this week was moved to July 25, and that she had been transferred to Tewksbury State Hospital, a storied institution that provides both medical and psychiatric services.

During her arraignment in February, Lindsay’s attorney Kevin Reddington told the court that she suffered a spinal cord injury when she jumped out the bedroom window and is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Lindsay appeared at the proceedings via Zoom from her hospital bed, where she could be seen wearing a mask and a neck brace.

She was charged with murder, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and strangulation for the deaths of all three children.

While prosecutors have argued that Lindsay “created” the scenario that sent Patrick away from the family’s home long enough for her to attempt the horrifying murder-suicide, the heartbroken father previously begged the public to forgive his wife.

“I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have,” he wrote in an update to a family’s GoFundMe just days after the killings.

“The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone — me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients. The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.”
