I’m a dermatologist — you’re using your deodorant all wrong

Slow your speed with that stick.

A TikTok-famous dermatologist has shared some valuable deodorant advice “that might just change your life.”

Dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky, a k a @dermguru, posted a quick clip to her feed revealing the best time to apply deodorant for maximum defense against perspiration.

Surprisingly, it’s not first thing in the morning — a time when a majority of people apply to start their day fragrant and dry.

“Deodorant at night to stop sweating,” Zubritksy wrote.

Others in the industry, like Lisa J. Pieretti, executive director at the International Hyperhidrosis Society, agree.

In particular, she recommends using an antiperspirant instead of deodorant at night because “antiperspirants stop sweat, and deodorants actually help neutralize any odor, and neutralize bacteria that may cause odor,” she told Yahoo.

“Then, in the morning, you can swipe a deodorant, which helps minimize any kind of concerns that you may have for odor during the day,” Pieretti added.

Other skin-care tips shared by Zubritsky include splicing Afrin nasal spray with moisturizer to deter rosacea — a common condition that causes visible blood vessels and facial blushing — as well as leaving dandruff shampoo on your scalp for at least five minutes prior to a rinse to reduce flaking.

“WHAT?!?!?! This is amazing, I’m trying it today,” commented a fellow TikToker.

“Yes deodorant at night is a game changer,” added another.
