I love my extreme tattoos and piercings — but people say I ‘should die’

A Danish man who claims to have spent $4,200 on tattoos, piercings and body modifications admits not everyone loves the work he’s had done — and he’s sharing strangers’ weirded-out reactions.

“I’ve been spat on while sitting on the bus minding my own business,” Copenhagen resident Remus, 25, told Jam Press.

“People yell at me on the street, and parents also cover their kids’ eyes when I walk past,” he continued.

“Online, I have comments telling me I should die, that I’ve ruined myself, and that I’ll never be hired for a job.”

Remus said he started his transformation at 14, initially piercing the bridge of his nose before adding a split tongue, implanted horns and scalpel ears.

He says his family was hesitant about his extreme look, claiming they have since softened their stance.

“I didn’t really care — and I still don’t — about what my family thinks, as it’s my body, my decision,” he declared.

“They still don’t like my modifications, but at this point they’ve stopped talking about it.”

Remus, who is gay, says he’d love to find a partner one day. He lamented that most of his previous relationships were either online or outside of his hometown.

For now, he’s focused on his body modifications — though he claims the invasive procedures are “illegal” in Denmark. He says he’s had some friends do them for free.

“I think my favorite modification is the ear scalpelling, as I really like my ‘orc’ ears. My ear cartilage and earlobes have been through this six times in total because I thought my ears were boring,” he explained.

“I wanted to shape them to look more brutal, so instead of going for an ear pointing procedure [elf ears], I wanted to remove parts of them instead.”

Although the inked-up Remus is happy with his look at the moment, he already has a plan for his next change — getting his eyeballs tattooed.

“I find the black eyes a bit too alien-like and intense for myself, so I will go for a more ‘sky effect’ with different types of greys.

“I’ve run out of things I want to get done, but I plan on tattooing the rest of my body and maybe add a few piercings here and there,” he shared.

“It’s one of the most extreme things you can get done body-modification-wise, so I’d like to add this into my collection.”

However, he says there are some things he won’t do — like removing his nose or belly button.

“I’ve played with the idea of getting some of my ring finger removed, but I’ll probably never get around to doing this,” he admitted. “Even that frightens me a bit.”

That would be one less finger he could give to his critics.
