Hotels.com offers private island for socially distant Friendsgiving
No man is an island, unless you and your “quaran-team” book this entire private island retreat for Friendsgiving.
As part of a promotion, travel site Hotels.com is offering up a three-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot vacation home in the Florida Keys for less than $50 per person each night for a weeklong November stay. The private island property — surrounded by palm trees and blue-water vistas, and able to fit up to six people — typically runs $1,400 nightly.
The first-come, first-served booking opens at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 27 for the offer, which runs for stays from Nov. 14 to 21. The total cost of the seven nights is $2,000 plus tax.
“2020 has really made us cherish the little things, like hanging out with friends IRL,” the website says.
Despite its remote nature, there’s plenty for a group of friends to do. The home, located off the coast of Marathon, Florida, comes equipped with a pool, a boat, kayaks and paddleboards — as well as a boat dock and a helicopter launch pad. What’s more, Hotels.com will even provide a private chef for one night to serve up a Friendsgiving dinner from the pad’s open kitchen.
Early this month, Hotels.com announced an offer to “live under a rock” between Nov. 2 and 7 to escape election week. That stay, located 50 feet below ground in New Mexico, is in a design-inspired cave with a living area and a small kitchen.
