Dunkin’ to debut a boozy iced coffee and tea
Dunkin’ is looking to give its coffee-crazed customers a different kind of buzz.
The Massachusetts-based chain is preparing to launch a line of boozy iced coffee and teas under the name Dunkin’ Spiked.
Its website is already up and running, and some Dunkin’ Spiked flavors were added to the list of label approvals on the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) database in May, though an exact launch date has yet to be announced.
Spiked iced coffees appear to come in four different flavors — original, caramel, mocha and vanilla — while teas are available in slightly sweet, half & half, strawberry dragonfruit and mango pineapple flavors.
The coffees are slightly more boozy, with a 6% alcohol by volume content. The teas, meanwhile, have an ABV of 5%.
While Dunkin’ Spiked offers eight flavors, only five have received label approval — original and vanilla iced coffee and slightly sweet, strawberry dragonfruit and mango pineapple iced tea.
The highly-anticipated offering will likely be released once all Dunkin’ Spiked varieties receive approval from the TTB.
Single cans are 19.2 ounces, while four- and six-can variety packs offer a mix of flavors in 12-ounce cans.
Each flavor of Dunkin’ Spiked will be brewed using a malt-based alcoholic product at the coffeehouse’s long-term, Boston-based brew partner, Harpoon Brewery, which creates Dunkin’s pumpkin-flavored and other seasonal beverages.
The Post has sought comment from Dunkin’ and Harpoon Brewery.
It’s unclear how much Dunkin’ Spiked will cost as its website still appears to be under construction.
There’s also an online map where customers can find where to buy Dunkin’ Spiked, though it was not functional as of Friday.
America’s largest coffee company, which operates nearly 10,000 locations in the US, is gearing up to release its fall offerings on Aug. 16, including its popular Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Customers can also expect pumpkin-flavored donuts, donut holes and muffins, plus a Maple Sugar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and Snackin’ Bacon in further not to the season.
Dunkin’ is set to launch a separate Halloween menu that’ll be available Oct. 11 to 31.
