Christian Pulisic hits Trump dance after goal in USMNT’s win over Jamaica

It’s the dance craze sweeping the sporting world, and after American soccer star Christian Pulisic scored against Jamaica on Monday night the Trump dance went international.

The dance has been seen everywhere from UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday to NFL games across the country on Sunday, with the signature moves of President-elect Donald Trump taking over popular culture.

And it should have come as no surprise that they were busted out during the U.S. men’s national team’s CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal match against Jamaica.

Pulisic scored in the 13th minute to open the scoring for the Americans when he chipped a ball over the Jamaican goaltender for the goal.

In celebration, he jogged over the corner and broke out the two-handed shimmy that Trump made popular on the campaign trail as some of his teammates joined in.

The game was taking place at CITYPARK in St. Louis, Missouri, which is the home of MLS Club St. Louis City SC.

The United States ended up toppling Jamaica 4-2 in the Monday night showdown and Pulisic scored a second goal in the 33rd minute for the Americans.

The Trump dance apparently made its way across the Atlantic when supporters of the president-elect noted that players from Barnsley F.C., a League One team in England, used it as their celebration in a match against Cambridge United.

Raiders star Brock Bowers used the dance as his touchdown celebration on Sunday and Lions defenders Malcolm Rodriguez and Za’Darius Smith broke out the move following a big stop.

UFC fighter Jon Jones did his best attempt at a version of the dance with Trump in attendance after he defeated Stipe Miocic by knockout on Saturday night.

The U.S. men’s national team will face Venezuela in an international friendly next month at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
