Celebrity designer Jeremy Scott leaves Moschino after 10 years
He’s exiting the catwalk.
Jeremy Scott is leaving Italian fashion house Moschino after a ten-year stint as its creative director.
The news was shared to the fashion house’s Instagram on Monday by Massimo Ferretti, the executive chairman of Aeffe, Moschino’s parent company.
“I am fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott. I would like to thank him for his 10 years of commitment to Franco Moschino’s legacy house and for ushering in a distinct and joyful vision that will forever be a part of Moschino history,” the statement read.
Scott, 47, who’s known for his pop culture inspired pieces, addressed his departure in a statement shared to Instagram.
“These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination. I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind,” the designer wrote.
Scott went on to thank Ferretti, as well as fans for embracing his collections.
“I’ve had a blast creating designs that will live on forever,” he added in a post to his personal Instagram. “I am grateful for all the love and support I’ve received over the past decade.”
He went on to say he’s filled with “excitement and anticipation” about what the future holds, and is excited to share his future endeavors.
Scott joined Moschino in 2013, replacing Rossella Jardini, launching his debut collection in 2014, which was described as a “fundamental chapter in the legacy of the brand” by the fashion house.
They also noted his daring looks sparked debate on “the role of fashion in the annals of arts, consumerism and social commentary.”
Some of his iconic looks over his 10-year run include Katy Perry’s chandelier getup at the 2019 Met Gala, Kim Kardashian’s money-covered trench, Lizzo’s Jessica Rabbit-inspired 2019 VMAs gown and even MTV’s redesigned VMA Moon Person award in 2014.
Celebrity fans where quick to comment on the post thanking Scott for his creative input.
“Looking forward to your next chapter !” Naomi Campbell wrote.
“We LoVe you Jeremy,” gushed Bella Hadid.
“You’ve transformed the brand and I can’t wait for the next chapter! Jeremy forever x,” wrote Rita Ora.
Scott’s replacement has not been announced yet.
