Belgium’s Thibaut Courtois kisses model fiancée at 2022 World Cup
Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois shared a sweet moment Wednesday with his model fiancée, Mishel Gerzig, as the couple kissed near the pitch during the country’s opening World Cup match against Canada.
Courtois, who currently plays for Real Madrid, embraced Gerzig in the stands at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, where Belgium defeated Canada, 1-0, in their Group F match-up.
Gerzig, an Israeli model, was photographed smiling at her future husband as he made his way over to her section of the stadium, where they kissed among onlookers.
Courtois, 30, had an impressive showing Wednesday, saving an early penalty from Canada’s Alphonso Davies, who is also a winger for the Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich.
Gerzig also took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate Courtois’ efforts.
“My king. No words needed,” she gushed Wednesday.
When Courtois does take the field again, it’s likely Gerzig will be showing her support nearby.
An avid traveler, Gerzig frequently posts photos of her global adventures on Instagram, where she boasts more than 600,000 followers. She gave fans a peek at her summer engagement to Courtois, who popped the question aboard a yacht.
“Yessss to a lifetime with you,” Gerzig posted in June.

In the photos, Courtois can be seen getting down on one knee in front of a stunned Gerzig. A short while after the proposal, Courtois penned a touching tribute to Gerzig on her birthday.
“Happy birthday to my future wife, to my number one supporter, to the person that makes me laugh every day,” he expressed in June.
Courtois and Belgium will next face Morocco on Sunday, followed by a match against Croatia on Thursday, Dec. 1.
