All about Kim Kardashian’s tummy-tightening treatment
Beauty is pain — at least according to Kim Kardashian, who shared the results of the Morpheus8 treatment she received to “tighten [her] stomach” on Instagram Wednesday.
“This is a game changer!!!” the Skims founder captioned a post-procedure snap of her abs, adding, “I think this is my fave laser but it’s painful lol but worth it!”
Kardashian, 41, visited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Askhan Ghavami for the minimally-invasive treatment, which uses a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency energy that “contours and remodels the face and body for a smoother and tighter appearance,” according to a press release.
Per Dr. Ghavani’s website, the Morpheus8 device’s needles puncture the upper layers of the skin and “deliver pulses of radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers of skin.”
This site claims the one-two punch of the micro-injuries and radiofrequency heat create a “thermal response” that “kickstarts your body’s natural healing process,” signaling for the production of collagen and elastin. Patients can also expect to see a “mild fat reduction in the treated area,” according to Dr. Ghavani’s practice.
While his site doesn’t include pricing for the procedure, which can be used to treat the face or body, RealSelf reports that the cost ranges from $350 to $3,500 depending on the provider, with an average price of $1,850 — and three to five sessions are “recommended for best results.”
The mother of four has long been a fan of laser treatments, recently telling Allure she’ll do them “after everyone’s in bed.”
But the star also told the outlet she steers (mostly) clear of anything invasive, opting for “a little bit of Botox” but “no filler.”
“I really, genuinely care about looking good,” Kardashian told the magazine. “I probably care more than 90% of the people on this planet.”
She also recently underwent a body fat scan with Bodyspec, revealing on Wednesday that her percentage dropped from 25% to 18.8% over the past year.
In May, Kardashian made headlines for losing 16 pounds in just three weeks to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress — which could not be altered — for the 2022 Met Gala, a move that earned her plenty of criticism from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
