Ali Krieger reflects on career in first post since Ashlyn Harris reveal
It’s business as usual for Gotham FC star Ali Krieger following Tuesday’s news that her estranged wife, former USWNT goalie Ashlyn Harris, is reportedly dating actress Sophia Bush.
Krieger, whose divorce from Harris was made public last week, posted a farewell message Tuesday on Instagram following her final NSWL regular-season game, which took place Sunday.
“Thank you for an unforgettable night celebrating with my two beautiful kids, family, best friends, teammates, fans and incredible @gothamfc staff!” the 39-year-old Krieger wrote.
“I will never forget you. Thank you for making me feel so valued, appreciated and truly adored.”
Krieger also shared a video collage from Gotham FC’s match against the Kansas City Current, which ended in a 2-2 tie.
The clip featured the retiring defender celebrating with teammates and fans and holding her two children she shares with Harris: 2-year-old daughter Sloane Phillips and 1-year-old son Ocean Maeve.
Krieger’s latest post came on the same day Page Six confirmed that Harris, 37, and Bush, 41, recently started dating.
Harris filed for divorce on Sept. 19, 2023, citing the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
Bush filed for divorce from Grant Hughes in August after just 13 months of marriage.
A rep for Hughes told Page Six that he is happy for the “One Tree Hill” alum.
Harris and Bush first sparked romance rumors in recent photos shared by Canadian soccer player Selenia Iacchelli on social media.
The pair has yet to confirm publicly that they are dating.
“It’s very new,” a source told Page Six of the rumored duo. “They are definitely a couple.”
Things appeared to turn romantic after Harris and Bush appeared together on a panel at the Cannes Lions advertising festival in June.
Krieger and Harris — who were on two World Cup-winning USWNT teams together in 2015 and 2019 — dated for nearly a decade before they tied the knot on Dec. 28, 2019, in Miami.
Krieger announced in March that she planned to retire from professional soccer at the end of this season.
Harris confirmed her retirement on social media in November 2022.
Gotham FC, the No. 6 seed for the NWSL playoffs, will face the North Carolina Courage at 7 p.m. ET Sunday in the quarterfinal round.
