Alex Morgan announces birth of baby girl
Soccer star Alex Morgan is celebrating her first Mother’s Day.
The US national team and Orlando Pride star forward gave birth to baby girl Charlie Elena Carrasco Thursday and made the announcement on social media Saturday.
“At 1130am on May 7 weighing 8lbs. 5oz., Charlie Elena Carrasco made her grand entrance into the world,” Morgan wrote on Instagram. “She made us wait longer than expected, but I should have known she would do it her way and her way only. My super moon baby.”
The Olympic gold medalist and two-time World Cup champion first announced that she was pregnant in October, three months after helping the women’s national team win a second consecutive World Cup title last July.
Morgan, 30, is married to Servando Carrasco, a defensive midfielder for the LA Galaxy.
“Charlie Elena Carrasco, we love you so much baby girl,” said Carrasco, 31, in an Instagram post welcoming his daughter yesterday. “Alex you’re such a warrior,” he wrote alongside a picture of the baby. “5/7/20 – best day of my life.”
