CHI x Barbie Dreamhouse rotating curler review: I’m in love

My younger, Barbie-obsessed self is screaming with joy. Who am I kidding? My full-grown self is leaping with joy!

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Barbie Dreamhouse, CHI and Barbie teamed up to bring a match made in hair heaven.

The two brands released a limited-edition collection including a 1-inch Ceramic Hairstyling Iron, 1-inch Ceramic Rotating Curler (which is like the famous CHI Spin N Curl tool) and a 1.25-inch Titanium Triple Barrel Deep Waver ($109.99 each).

“As a company committed to innovation,” said Dr. Farouk Shami, chairman and founder of Farouk Systems, Inc. “We were thrilled to work with Mattel again to create this experience for consumers.”

There’s no doubt that this collaboration is in tandem with Margot Robbie’s and Ryan Gosling’s 2023 Barbie film.

While the internet obsesses over each costume, we get to enjoy some sweet sneak peeks. We’ve already seen outtakes of Robbie sporting glam curls while sitting in a hot pink convertible and soft waves as she struts in a lace-up cowgirl fit.

Seeing Robbie live her best hair life only inspired me to put the CHI x Barbie Dreamhouse Collection to the test. I was specifically interested in the 1-inch Ceramic Rotating Curler ($100), which is essentially an automatic Chi curling iron. and let me just tell you, it did not disappoint.

Is the CHI x Barbie Dreamhouse Rotating Curler worth it?

The CHI x Barbie Dreamhouse 1-inch Ceramic Rotating Curler is similar to the iconic CHI Spin N Curl, though this one comes in a signature bubblegum Barbie pink color. It also boasts a marbled design with gold accents that totally drool worthy.

To use, simply heat the curler up to your desired temperature, place a one-inch section of hair into the barrel and hold down either the left or right directional button (depending on which way you want to curl your hair). Wait 15 seconds, listen for a beep and release.

The rotating curler is that simple to use and allows you to create a plethora of looks, such as flawless curls, cute coils and beachy waves. No matter which style you opt for, you’re guaranteed to unlock mega volume and serious body.
