Soccer agent Mino Raiola ‘pissed off’ over death rumors
Mino Raiola, a renowned Italian soccer agent whose superstar clientele includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, is “pissed off” amid reports he died.
On Thursday, Raiola, 54, tweeted, “Current health status for the ones wondering: pissed off second time in four months they kill me. Seem also able to ressuscitate (sic).”
Raiola’s business partner, Jose Fortes Rodrigues, told ESPN that the Raiola remains in serious condition after he was admitted to Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital in January.
“It’s not true,” Rodrigues said about the death reports. “He is not dead, but he is fighting for his life.”
Doctor Alberto Zangrillo, who is treating Raiola, was reportedly furious over the false reports that his patient had died.
“I’m indignant at the phone calls by pseudo journalists speculating on the life of a man who is fighting [for his life],” Zangrillo told Italian news agency ANSA.
It’s unclear why Raiola was hospitalized in January, and what health matter he is dealing with.
On January 12, a tweet from his Twitter account read: “Mino Raiola is undergoing ordinary medical checks that require anestesia. All was planned and no emergency surgery happened.”
Raiola represents some of soccer’s most prominent players, and is known for striking mega deals — including the record transfer of Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United for 89 million pounds in 2016.
