‘Liver King’ reveals 30-year transformation, ancestral diet
The self-proclaimed “Liver King” is showing off his transformation after years of chowing down on raw liver.
Brian Johnson — who found fame preaching ancestral living — posted a throwback photo of himself from when he was a teenager.
The pic, which recently resurfaced online, showed His Majesty looking very different than his beefed-up and buffed-up self now.
The snap, taken three decades ago, is of a young Johnson looking muscular by his pool.
“Throwback to young Liver King … This was taken before I could legally drive,” he began his lengthy caption, noting how far he has come with his organ-ic lifestyle.
“My life was a living hell for most of my adolescent years (and I wouldn’t trade it for anything). I was the only one-of-my-kind at my school … to make matters worse for myself … I was undersized … I looked funny,” he recalled.
Johnson went on: “I didn’t have a single friend and I had absolutely no concept of self-worth. I got the crap kicked, punched and pummeled outta me on the daily — for years.”
He also pointed out that he didn’t have his father around, and he had to “figure a way out of that hellhole that was my life.”
“And I did. I got to work. I got strong. I was able to impose my will. I took ownership and I ran towards my demons. I led myself to confidence and I created a new life for myself … a life that I wanted to live in,” he wrote.
The fitness guru explained: “That was my rite of passage, and it changed me and it forged me into the evolutionary hunter, the unrelenting fighter, the serial ancestral entrepreneur, that I am today. Thirty years later (now [45]), I’m in the best shape of my life.”
“If you’re asking what changed … that’s simple. I started putting back in what the modern world left out. #BeforeAncestralLiving,” he concluded his post.
Johnson has gone viral across social media for taking freezing-cold ice baths, showcasing his unusual high-protein diet and even catching fish with just his teeth.
He said he maintains his muscular physique by munching on raw animal liver, protein shakes, egg yolks and bone marrow. Just this week, he posted an Instagram video that shows how he prepares bone marrow.
Johnson shares his lifestyle online, and his posts often include appearances from his wife and their two kids.
