Mom and daughter treated to a vacant section on long-haul flight
This flight was a sight for sore eyes.
A mom and daughter were pleasantly shocked to learn that they would be amongst a small handful of passengers onboard a massive, international-bound flight.
The lucky pair, Zoe Doyle, 25 and her mother Kimmy Chedel, 59, were so excited to be the only two in economy seating that they took the time to shoot videos and try on the hats of flight attendants in place of typical boarding misery.
“We had no idea we were the only ones,” Doyle told SWNS.
Flying from the Seychelle Islands to Switzerland with a layover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Doyle credits two factors for the extraordinary surprise.
“Because it was monsoon season in the Seychelles, as well as being Christmas day, it just meant no one was flying I guess,” she said mentioning that first class had a slim amount of passengers as well.
“They said it never happens.”
But Doyle and Chedel — who were heading to a Christmas celebration of their own — weren’t the only two having fun in the air as the cabin crew also got in on the de facto festivities.
We got a little tour of the plane, although we still weren’t allowed into first class.
“It was so much fun. We were chatting with the flight attendants and filming funny videos with them,” she added. “They even got a Polaroid camera out and dressed my mom up in the cabin crew uniform. It was great.”
Doyle, originally of Montreal, Canada, and later Cape Town, South Africa, even made pretend snow angels in the vacant aisles of the plane to celebrate.
The crew also offered the mom and daughter very fun tours while on board.
“All the flight attendants were so excited that it was empty.”
Their pleasant travels come as a stark contrast to a recent Alaska Airlines flight which had a door plug horrifyingly blow out while midair.
