Models dodge slime on runway at Prada’s Milan Fashion Week show: ‘Iconic’

Forget “stealth wealth” and “tenniscore.”

The hottest trend in fashion appears to be … slime.

The sticky substance was seen oozing from the ceiling during Prada’s Spring Summer 2024 collection show at Milan Fashion Week Wednesday night.

Models walking the runway were forced to artfully dodge the pale pink slime as it pooled on the floor.

Celebrities sitting front row at the show, including Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson and Amal Clooney, also managed to avoid getting splashed by the sticky liquid.

Slime — which is hardly considered aesthetically pleasing — was featured at the event in order to convey a concept, Guardian U.S. editor Betsey Reed believes.

“It made a point that the designer Miuccia Prada has been making for decades – that beauty is much more compelling with a little ugliness thrown in,” she stated in an article about the slime.

It’s not the first time this year that Prada has chosen to employ the goo at one of its fashion shows.

Back in June, slime was also featured at Prada’s Spring Summer 2024 menswear show, which took place at the same location.

For that event, more than 3,000 kilograms — or topping 6,600 pounds — were trucked in to ooze from the ceiling, according to the architecture and design magazine Dezeen.

That slime appeared to complement the couture collection, named “Fluid Form,” which Prada described as “an examination of fluid architecture, around the human body.”

On Wednesday, several pundits took to social media to cheer the slime’s return to the runway.

“THE SLIME IS BACK!” one cheered, before labeling it “iconic,” while another clearly coveted the goo.

“Someone better bottle up the Prada slime and send it my way,” the impressed fashionista fawned.
