Video shows gang stealing a car at gunpoint in Chicago

Shocking video shows a coordinated gang of carjackers forcing a driver out of his Audi at gunpoint and leaving him lying in the middle of a Chicago road as other cars drive by.

The newly revealed footage shows an Audi A4 pulled over on a four-lane road with its headlights on when two other vehicles approach from the other direction — turning to trap the Audi by blocking it at the front and rear.

At first, the Audi rolls forward as the desperate 27-year-old driver tries to escape, but within seconds, at least three men leap from the surrounding vehicles — with at least one pointing a gun at him.

The targeted driver is then dragged out and thrown to the ground as the gang “displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s vehicle,” Chicago police said.

An attacker is seen tying the driver’s hands behind his back, leaving him face-down in the street as others enter his car.

The suspects then got into all three vehicles and drove away, leaving the driver in the middle of the busy road and only able to get away once his attackers had left.

The entire crime took less than two minutes — during which at least seven other vehicles drove by.

Chicago police confirmed that it is still seeking around six suspects for the shocking crime that was on the intersection of West Wabansia and North Western avenues at around 3:20 a.m. on Sept. 2.

“No injuries were reported, no offenders are in custody and [detectives] are investigating,” a spokesperson said.

Chicago Police Department deals with “a vast volume of crimes on a daily basis” in the Democrat-run city, authorities griped to the Daily Mail, which highlighted the carjacking footage.

In fact, the carjacking came the same night eight people said they were robbed in just 30 minutes in the same neighborhood.

The suspects were described as black males between 17 and 23 years old, who were wearing masks and hoodies, according to CWB Chicago.

They were seen entering dark-colored sedans, like those captured in the surveillance footage. No arrests have been made in any of those cases.

There has also been an 86% rise in motor vehicle thefts over the same time last year, with 42,512 reported in 2022 and 54,983 so far this year.

Overall, carjackings have skyrocketed by 227% since 2019.

To curb the rise, law enforcement officials have set up a multi-agency effort — including Illinois State Police and the FBI — to stop and find would-be thieves.
