Self-proclaimed ‘fat girl’ shares hygiene tips for plus-size people
Eu-reek-a!
A self-proclaimed “fat bitch” is making waves online for revealing how plus-size people can ensure they don’t smell bad, and other hygiene tips, in TikToks with millions of views.
Long Islander Colleen Marie, 23, frequently posts videos detailing the oft-uncomfortable reality of being overweight.
Topics include eliciting gasps while rocking a bikini and gawkers assuming you’re single.
In one of her most popular series, entitled “hygiene tips from a fat girl” (also known as “hygiene tips from a fat bitch”), the body positivity advocate shares how to stay clean while corpulent.
“I wanted to create a series where I can teach other people that some of the things that they might be experiencing with their body [are] normal,” she explained.
She added that she wanted to highlight “feminine hygiene” from a plus size person’s perspective, so people didn’t just have to hear it from doctors.
One of the life hacker’s most popular pieces of advice? Soap flesh rolls with antimicrobial cleanser.
“Now, if you’re a person who has rolls or doesn’t feel like you’re clean in certain areas … let me tell you about antibacterial soap,” she continued. “Using this soap has created such a huge difference in my life overall.”
The influencer claims that since she started using the grime fighter — Dial and Dove are her preferred brands, per the comments — on her rolls, underarms and even vagina, these regions no longer have an “odor.”
However, people must use the soap properly for best results, per the tutorial.
“When you’re showering, make sure every single time that you use antibacterial soap,” Colleen instructed. “If you use a loofah or a washcloth, change out those things every single time.”
The hygiene enthusiast, who counts 175,000 followers on TikTok, divulged that she uses different scrubbers for different body parts, explaining, “I don’t use the same washcloth that I used for my legs for my vagin.”
Other plus-size cleanliness tips, per the clip, include slathering one’s rolls with Gold Bond Clear spray or No Mess Body powder, applying rash cream on every region of the body that chafes, and scouring one’s corpus with nonscented baby wipes when hot or sweaty.
The hygiene hints resonated with the online masses.
“Dove anti bacterial body wash is a life changer!” fawned one fan, while another wrote, “I love dove antibacterial, it smells so good too.”
“Gold bond FOR CHAFING saved my life!!!!!” gushed a third.
One commenter claimed Colleen is going to “help a lot of people feel better.”
She said she ultimately hopes to spread awareness about these uncomfortable subjects from the perspective of a person who’s experienced hygiene issues firsthand.
“I’m here to tell you as a bigger girl who has experienced a lot of these things and felt embarrassed about these things,” she declared. “This is why I’m telling you… to show you that you are not alone when it comes to situations like this.”
