One thing you should never wear on a plane

A flight attendant has warned travelers never to wear shorts or a skirt on a plane, and the reason might surprise you.

While you might think that wearing these comfy clothes is the way to go, doing this is actually not a great idea.

TikToker and cabin crew member Tommy Cimato explains…

“You never know how clean the seats are going to be”

In his now-viral video, Tommy tells his viewers the ‘Five things you should never do on a plane’.

One of those things is “Don’t, or try not to wear shorts when you’re on a plane.”

Flight attendant reveals 5 things you should never do while traveling on an airplane.

“You never know how clean the seat is going to be – so if you have pants, you’re going to have less germs.”

Essentially, by covering your legs, you minimize the amount of contact you have with the seat on a plane – something that’s not always clean.

“Don’t fall asleep or lean your head on the window”

He suggests wearing long pants to avoid contact with the airplane seat.

He then compared leaning against the plane window to wearing shorts.

Tommy said: “Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window. You are not the only one that has done that and you don’t know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”

Another one of his five points was to “never touch the flush button or lever.” Apparently, doing this with your bare hands is “super unsanitary and gross” so he suggests using a piece of tissue in the bathroom to press the flush.

“This proves you don’t clean the plane”

According to this flight attendant, it is best to avoid contact with the seat and windows, as you never know who sat there before you.

Commenters thanked Tommy for his helpful tips.

“Thanks, great advice!” one person said. Another said, “These are great to know – cheers!” And someone else commented, “I always make sure to wear a tracksuit so everything is covered, plus they’re so comfy!”

But a lot of people also had the same question… “Sooo, do you guys like not clean the plane after each flight?” one person asked.

Another said: “JUST CLEAN THE DAMN AIRPLANE!”

And a third claimed: “This basically proves you guys don’t clean the plane.”

But other users advised people they just take extra steps to make sure they stay hygeinic. “I spray everything like I’m cleaning a bathroom before I sit down.”

And someone else said: “I always make sure to wipe my seat and the window before taking my seat.”
