I use a hair-flattening iron on the train — I don’t see a problem with that
A TikToker sparked a debate about etiquette with a viral video showing her straightening her hair — on a train.
“Say wot u want about trains in the UK, but can’t deny the slay that you’re able to plug in ur straighteners at 7am,” Daniella wrote in a clip that has now earned 873,300 views.
The quick video shows the young woman using a flattening iron on her hair as she sits on the train with a full face of makeup.
“Like does southern trains know theyre helping me drag up on my way to a shoot ???” she captioned the video.
While Daniella was proud of her moving beauty salon, others were not so impressed.
“Noo that’s nasty girl. Do that at home. Hair everywhere and the smell,” one unimpressed commenter wrote.
More than 3,000 people liked the comment, eventually leading Daniella to respond.
“I hear what you’re saying, but I do way more disgusting stuff on this train, like eating my meal prep,” she said to the camera in another TikTok video as she began to eat a salad. “Also, my hair doesn’t smell.”
“Wait till you find out I eat my meal prep that’s been sitting in my bag for 10 hours,” she replied in another TikTok video.
But despite Daniella’s doubling down, lots of people considered her move unsanitary and inconsiderate.
“So basically you don’t give a f–k about your fellow commuters and are too lazy to get out of bed earlier to eat and get ready in other words lazy,” wrote one.
Another threatened Daniella with an odorous onslaught: “If I ever see you on a coach I’m sitting next to you and farting the entire journey. Enjoy the smell.”
“It’s funny when people think it’s ‘cute’ or ‘quirky’ to not have any sense of social graces or consideration for others,” a naysayer offered on a separate TikTok video.
One more user agreed that Daniella has “no consideration for others.”
While thousands of people seemed to be disgusted with the traveling beauty salon, plenty of others seemed to respect Daniella’s bold and efficient move.
“Exactly, train time should always be productive if possible,” one apparent fan commented.
“Was embarrased to do my makeup on the morning commute & the woman across from me pulled out her straightners, we turned the carriage into a salon,” someone confessed.
“For the amount they charge for fares, i should think so too. They should throw in some complimentary beverages in too,” another supporter quipped.
But one commenter warned that she “saw another girl on TT being fined for causing the fire alarm to go off for the same reason.”
The Post has reached out to Daniella for comment.
Her TikTok is just one of many viral videos to spark furious online debates about public transportation etiquette.
Earlier this year, a photo of a man spreading his leg into a woman’s space on the train started a war of words about manspreading.
