Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene hits back at Biden over campaign ad
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn’t approve of this message.
The firebrand right-wing Georgia pol hit back at President Biden for a biting ad in that turned her into an unwitting campaign surrogate for his economic message.
The ad released Tuesday used snippets of Greene’s recent speech at the Turning Point USA conference assailing Biden’s economic record — refashioning the sound bites to portray her as commending his work.
“Be honest Joe. This is really what I said about you. And this is what you actually approve,” Greene tweeted in response, including a clip of her scathing appraisal of his record.
“Joe Biden is attempting to complete socialism. Meanwhile, we are now 32 trillion dollars in debt with record-high homelessness, 40-year record inflation,” she bemoaned in the clip.
Biden’s ad has blown past 42 million impressions online, his campaign told The Post Wednesday.
It drew widespread acclaim from many of his allies, fellow Democrats, and even some disgruntled Republicans.
“This ad is political perfection. Umm, Marge, way to own the Lib!” former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele tweeted.
“Well done, Mr. President,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) tweeted.
“This is truly the greatest troll of 2024. It’s why @POTUS will be re-elected in a landslide. Y’all are playing hee haw with the f—- around gang,” Florida Politics publisher Peter Schorsch chimed in.
In her remarks featured throughout the spot, Greene was used to promote Biden’s work with “education, medical care, urban problems and urban poverty.”
“Biden had the largest public investment in social infrastructure, in environmental programs that is actually finishing what FDR started, that LBJ expanded on,” Greene said in the spliced mashup of her speech.
Greene has long been an adversary of Biden, even going so far as moving to impeach him on multiple occasions.
Biden, in turn, has used her as something of a boogeyman to rail against “extreme-MAGA” Republicans.
“You know, a little bit more Marjorie Taylor Greene and a few more, you’re gonna have a lot of Republicans running our way,” Biden quipped at a House Democrats’ 2023 Issues Conference earlier this year.
“Isn’t she amazing?”
Greene has endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election cycle and is one of his most stalwart supporters in the lower chamber.
The Post contacted a Greene representative for comment.
