Victoria Beckham mocks David Beckham’s embarrassing Lionel Messi moment
Victoria Beckham had jokes after husband, David Beckham, nearly took a nasty fall during Lionel Messi’s unveiling at Inter Miami on Sunday.
The Argentina soccer star — who signed a multi-year deal with the club, co-owned by Beckham, on Saturday — was introduced to a sold-out crowd at DRV PNK Stadium, where Beckham slipped on the runway during the rainy celebration.
Victoria didn’t spare her husband in a pair of Instagram Story posts, which trolled the former pro and his battle against the downpour in South Florida.
“He’s not a natural on the catwalk,” the fashion designer wrote over a clip of Beckham flailing his arms while getting his footing.
Beckham also reposed the video to his Instagram story with a crying-laughing laughing emoji and wrote, “I mean.”
Fellow Inter Miami owners Jorge Mas and Jose Mas also appeared to slip while walking on the wet runway in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Unveil Event was held to officially welcome Messi and Spanish midfielder Sergio Busquets to the team.
Victoria shared a number of photos from the celebration, which was attended by the Beckhams’ daughter Harper and son Cruz.
Their two sons, Romeo and Brooklyn were not present, according to Victoria.
The former Spice Girls star also poked fun at herself, and joked that the humidity in Florida was not cooperating with her hair.
“The weather is good for the skin but not so good for the hair!” Victoria wrote over a photo of the family that showed her hair blowing in the wind.
“Special night last night with family, friends & La Familia @intermiamicf,” Beckham wrote on Instagram, including a collage of photos from the presentation.
“Thank you to everyone for showing up come rain or shine we had a typical Miami welcome Love you all x.”
On Saturday, Messi became the highest-profile MLS signing since David Beckham joined LA Galaxy in 2007.
Inter Miami ticket sales have already soared, with Floridians giving Messi a warm welcome to the city.
“I am very happy to have chosen to come to this city with my family, to have chosen this project, and I have no doubt that we are going to enjoy it very much,” Messi said after his introduction.
“We are going to have a good time, and great things are going to happen. Thank you very much, thank you all for this day.
“I can’t wait to start training to compete. I feel the same desire I’ve always had to compete, to really want to win and to help it [Miami] continue to grow.”
