Meghan Markle steps away from Harry’s public attempts to be ‘anonymous’: expert

Meghan Markle makes no attempt to “be anonymous” when out in public, according to a royal body language expert.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, on Friday, enjoyed a stroll around her neighborhood as she checked out Montecito Farmers Market near their $14 million home.

But her outing has since been criticized by expert Judi James, who claimed the mom of two “idealized” her shopping trip in a desperate bid to “acknowledge the camera.”

“Meghan shops as though she’s still taking part in a Netflix series,” James told the Mirror. “This is idealized A-list shopping complete with shoulder sack, designer shades, and a bodyguard: sniffing orchids and tasting honey rather than pushing a trolley full of baked beans and fish fingers ’round the aisles of a Lidl.”

Markle made the trip sans Harry, leaving the duke, 38, at home.

Instead, she was accompanied by her security detail and one of her pet beagles — despite the market’s rule forbidding dogs.

James suggested that Markle used her large handbag in an attempt to conceal her identity, but claimed that the duchess wasn’t so successful.

“The bag looks like a form of barrier or attempt to hide here but her famously beautiful face is only partly hidden by the shades and unlike Harry, she hasn’t gone down the baseball cap route to try to be anonymous,” he told the outlet.

“She also seems to acknowledge the camera with a smile, rather than ducking out of sight.”

During her brief outing, Markle walked along the stalls, checking out all of the handmade items on offer.

She left the market clutching a floral bouquet.

The “Suits” star was wearing a tan maxidress with an unbuttoned white collared shirt over it, accessorized with black flip-flops, sunglasses, and a woven straw tote bag.

As the duchess went from tent to tent shopping for local goods, picking up a bunch of flowers and sampling some honey, she managed to keep a low profile and go mostly unnoticed by locals — though she did smile and was friendly to the shoppers who did recognize her.

James’ comments come just days after it was reported that Harry may be looking to “turn his back” on Markle’s star-studded Hollywood lifestyle.
