We’re on a 10-year honeymoon, living off $8 a day by selling nudes
An image is worth a thousand words — or a 10-year honeymoon.
A thrifty couple has embarked on the trip of a lifetime — a decade-long adventure around the world, funded by selling saucy pictures of themselves.
Silke Muys, 31, and Kieran Shannon, 29, met in Spain in 2019, immediately falling for each other and marrying on the Isle of Skye in Scotland in 2021.
While they just celebrated their first anniversary, the couple is still on their dream honeymoon — and have no plans to stay put.
The pair love traveling the world together, so they plan to stretch it out for another nine years — and they now live off just $8 a day to make it happen.
“We are living an amazing life, but we don’t think a lot of people would be able to live how we do,” Shannon told SWNS.
The adventurous couple has already traveled to Iceland, Spain, hitchhiked across Portugal, before spending three months in Sri Lanka, then traveled to India, Nepal and Thailand.
The couple — who were both working as dancers when they met — have been able to afford the long trip by only spending $8 a day and staying in the cheapest hostels.
They say they’re strict on themselves and budget for every aspect of their life, skipping on luxuries and gourmet meals.
The pair revealed they earn $400 a month from selling steamy pictures of themselves to subscribers on Patreon once a week, dubbing it “Freaky Friday.”
“We came up with the idea of Freaky Friday because we want to spread body positivity and are both very comfortable in our skin,” Shannon told SWNS.
The loved-up pair met in Spain, immediately jumping into a trip together after three months.
Shannon, from Gervin, Scotland, proposed to Muys, on the Isle of Skye while they were working as models for a wedding photographer in Scotland. They returned to get married in the same spot surrounded by friends and family — including Muys’ family from Belgium — on Aug. 30, 2021.
“We were so caught up in each other we barely noticed the people around us,” Shannon gushed recalling the big day.
Their initial trek across the isle of Skye was a catalyst for an ultra-long honeymoon.
“We walked 500km across the isle of Skye and we thought how could we possible top that?” Shannon said. “We decided we would travel the world for 10 years for our honeymoon.”
The couple — who also play music in local eateries and sometimes stay in hotels in exchange for a sponsored Instagram post — admitted their lives aren’t always glamorous, saying the accommodation and conditions they travel in sometimes are bleak, but wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We are now living in our dream and want to inspire others to catch the traveling bug,” said Shannon.
