I ordered DIY veneers — now I can’t even talk
Toothfully told, this one may have been best left to the professionals.
A mom-of-five has shared her disastrous results after ordering veneers online, admitting she “can’t even talk” with them.
TikTok user Sara Nash showed off her excessively pearly whites in the clip — which has been viewed over 15,000 times — admitting she doesn’t think she “molded them right.”
“So, I bought some DIY veneers… I don’t think I molded them right,” she wrote in the minute-long clip, holding her hand over her mouth until she revealed her bright veneers.
“I can’t even talk!” Nash, who seems to have ditched the DIY teeth in recent months, continued. “What do you think? Is it a win?”
Veneers are a thin layer of material that cover the teeth to help improve the appearance. Costing upwards of $1,600 to $4,000 per tooth, dentists bind them to the teeth to change their shape, color, size and length.
Although veneers are traditionally applied by a dental professional, DIY veneers have hit the market in recent years and can be applied at home. Often, DIY veneers are made from cheaper materials and are designed to be temporary, usually applied to natural teeth through a dental adhesive.
TikTokers often share their dental mishaps on the app. Earlier in the year, user Yaa Animwaah Khay posted a tutorial showing the “hack” she used to cover the gap in between her two front teeth — using chewing gum. In later clips, though, she shared she has now gotten aligners, so she no longer uses the gum hack.
