Model Courtney Clenney sued by Christian Obumseli’s family

The OnlyFans model accused of killing her boyfriend during a blowup in their luxury Miami apartment has been hit with a lawsuit by his family to cover funeral costs and other expenses.

Courtney Clenney, 26 — who is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend, cryptocurrency trader Christian Obumseli, 28, in April 2022 — has been sued by his estate over her alleged negligence, TMZ reported Thursday.

The civil lawsuit claims the family has accumulated heavy expenses from Christian’s medical care and funeral.

Also named in the suit are the owner of the building where the stabbing took place and the condo’s security team.

The family is seeking to recoup the costs, as well as unspecified damages to cover past and future mental suffering — and the loss of his future support and services to his family.

“Courtney will defend this civil matter as vigorously as the pending criminal case,” the suspect’s attorney, Frank Prieto, told TMZ.

“It is important to note that the Plaintiff (Estate of Obumseli) filed suit against the security company, building management company, and the owner’s [sic] of the apartment that Courtney rented,” he said.

“The Estate is seeking wrongful death damages in hopes of getting a huge payout because these companies have very high limits on their insurance policies. Courtney has no assets that the Estate can collect on,” Prieto continued.

“Courtney was a victim of domestic violence and her actions the evening of April 3, 2022 were taken to save her life. Once she is vindicated in the criminal matter, the civil case will also fall apart,” he added.

Clenney — who made over $3 million from the adult site since 2020 and boasts more than 2 million Instagram followers — has claimed she was fending off his attack before plunging a knife into his chest.

The social media starlet was recorded threatening Obumseli’s life just one month before the stabbing.

In December, Clenney broke down in tears as detectives informed her of Obumseli’s death.

She had claimed she threw the knife at Obumseli in self-defense during an argument — but prosecutors gave a different version of events, alleging that she stabbed him.

Las Vegas Police bodycam footage shows police questioning Courtney Clenney and Christian Obumseli at the Cosmopolitan Resort Casion, July, 27, 2021. Clenney was arrested and charged with domestic battery after telling police officers she threw a glass at Obumseli during an argument about not going to dinner the previous night.
Her defense has pointed out that she had asked for a restraining order against her beau days before the fatal fight.

Crime scene photos show both Clenney and their apartment covered in blood.

Her defense has pointed out that she had asked for a restraining order against her beau days before the fatal fight — and a security guard in their building told cops he once saw Obumseli rush at her.

A judge has denied her request for bail.

“There is no dispute that Defendant killed Victim in this case … the only factual issue in dispute is whether Defendant was acting in self-defense,” the judge wrote.
